A Helpful Overview of Care, Sessions, and My Approach
Choosing the right practitioner is important. Below are answers to common questions to help you understand how I work, what to expect, and whether my approach is a good fit for you.
My work is not spa massage, chiropractic adjustments, or traditional physical therapy.
I use a combination of gentle, precise techniques that help the body release tension, improve alignment, calm the nervous system, and restore natural movement patterns.
Sessions are quiet, intentional, individualized, and never rushed.
No. I don’t diagnose or act as a primary medical provider.
My work focuses on helping your body move better, feel better, and function more naturally using hands-on techniques, movement awareness, and corrective strategies when appropriate.
Each session is one-on-one in a calm, private environment.
I’ll use the techniques that best support your body that day, whether that’s gentle manual therapy, myofascial release, cranio-sacral work, spinal adjustments, sports rehab strategies, or corrective movement.
Most clients describe the work as gentle, relieving, and deeply relaxing.
Some techniques may create light sensation or therapeutic pressure, but the goal is never to push into pain. Instead, I work with your body, not against it.
I help people experiencing:
- Low back or neck pain
- Sciatica
- Headaches or migraines
- TMJ discomfort
- Stiff or painful joints
- Sports injuries or overuse issues
- Chronic pain
- Movement limitations or tension patterns
If you’re unsure whether I can help, feel free to reach out. Most people experiencing pain or restricted movement benefit from this approach.
It depends on your body, your goals, and how long the issue has been present.
Some people feel meaningful change in one session. Others require a series of sessions to create deeper correction and stability. Together, we’ll determine a plan that makes sense for you, such as short-term support or ongoing maintenance.
Yes. I keep exercises simple, targeted, and realistic. These movements are meant to support and reinforce the work we do during your session, not overwhelm you with a long routine.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for movement, similar to what you’d wear for stretching, yoga, or light activity.
No special equipment or clothing is required.
No. My practice is private-pay only. This allows me to:
- Spend more time with each client
- Provide fully personalized care
- Avoid treatment limitations or restrictions
- Focus on your needs rather than insurance requirements
Payment is due at the time of service.
Many clients successfully use HSA or FSA funds. Since coverage varies by plan, please check with your provider to verify eligibility.
Yes. I regularly work with hikers, golfers, cyclists, runners, and individuals who want to move better or return to activity without pain.
Whether you’re maintaining performance or recovering from injury, the approach is tailored to you.
Yes, when appropriate. I’m happy to coordinate with your doctor, dentist, movement specialist, trainer, or other practitioner to support continuity of care.
You can schedule by calling, emailing, or reaching out through the contact page. If you’d like to speak first and make sure it feels like a good fit, you’re welcome to request a brief phone consultation.
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
- Arrive hydrated
- Avoid rushing right before the appointment if possible
- Bring any relevant history you’d like to share, but it’s not required
There’s no need to stretch, prepare, or change anything beforehand.
Your first appointment includes time for conversation, assessment, and hands-on work. This gives me a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing and how your body responds to treatment. Here’s what typically happens:
1. A Short Conversation
We’ll talk briefly about:
- What you’re feeling
- How long it’s been happening
- What makes it better or worse
- What you want help with
This allows us to set meaningful goals together.
2. Posture and Movement Observation
You’ll move through simple positions or movements, things like walking, bending, or turning your head.
Nothing strenuous, nothing evaluative, just helpful information.
This helps me understand how your body is compensating, where tension is held, and where mobility may be restricted.
3. Hands-On Therapy
The majority of your session is spent on the table, fully clothed, using the techniques most appropriate for your needs that day.
Depending on your body and goals, I may use:
- Manual Therapy
- Myofascial Release Therapy
- Cranio-Sacral Therapy
- Lymph Drainage
- Spinal Adjustments
- Sports Rehabilitation techniques
The work is gentle, intentional, and tailored to your nervous system, not forceful or aggressive.
4. Integration and Closing
After the hands-on portion, we’ll briefly discuss what shifted, what you noticed, and anything you may want to be aware of between now and your next session.
If appropriate, I may give you a simple corrective exercise or movement to support the work we did.
Most people describe the work as:
- Relaxing
- Light but effective
- Deeply calming
- Relieving
- Subtle but powerful
Some clients notice warmth, gentle release, or changes in pressure as the body unwinds patterns of tension.
There’s no need to do anything. Simply relax and allow your body to respond.
Every person responds differently. Common experiences include:
- Improved mobility
- Less pain or tension
- Better posture or ease of movement
- More awareness of your body
- Increased relaxation or deeper sleep
- Feeling grounded, lighter, or clearer
Occasionally, there may be a temporary adjustment period, especially if your body is releasing old patterns. This is normal and usually brief.
