Your first appointment includes time for conversation, assessment, and hands-on work. This gives me a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing and how your body responds to treatment. Here’s what typically happens:
1. A Short Conversation
We’ll talk briefly about:
- What you’re feeling
- How long it’s been happening
- What makes it better or worse
- What you want help with
This allows us to set meaningful goals together.
2. Posture and Movement Observation
You’ll move through simple positions or movements, things like walking, bending, or turning your head.
Nothing strenuous, nothing evaluative, just helpful information.
This helps me understand how your body is compensating, where tension is held, and where mobility may be restricted.
3. Hands-On Therapy
The majority of your session is spent on the table, fully clothed, using the techniques most appropriate for your needs that day.
Depending on your body and goals, I may use:
- Manual Therapy
- Myofascial Release Therapy
- Cranio-Sacral Therapy
- Lymph Drainage
- Spinal Adjustments
- Sports Rehabilitation techniques
The work is gentle, intentional, and tailored to your nervous system, not forceful or aggressive.
4. Integration and Closing
After the hands-on portion, we’ll briefly discuss what shifted, what you noticed, and anything you may want to be aware of between now and your next session.
If appropriate, I may give you a simple corrective exercise or movement to support the work we did.
